INSIDE A SCOTTISH HARE & HOUNDS

The event gave BRAAP a useful way to explain Hare & Hounds through a real race: grouped starts, passing etiquette, changing lines and the effort required from a small club to build and run the course. Rider reactions and youth coverage added the human side rather than treating it as a simple highlights film.

Glendearg Hare & Hounds 2026: how the race unfolded

Scottish Borders Enduro Club hosted the Glendearg Hare & Hounds near Galashiels on 2 August 2026. Bright sunshine and dry conditions brought a full field of riders to the Borders, with dust becoming a factor for those following closely behind another motorcycle. The club expanded the route with additional land, creating a demanding lap reported to take around 25 minutes.

The course began with a tightly packed section through the bushes before looping over farmland and returning to the familiar Glendearg terrain. Hills, drops, rocky sections and jumps near the quarry combined to test both pace and concentration. The course preparation also highlighted the work volunteers put into making a Scottish Hare & Hounds event possible.

Expert results and standout riders

Australian professional Enduro rider Will Dennett took the Expert class win, finishing a lap ahead. Andrew Bisset placed second and Gregor Williamson third. The event also featured close competition across other classes, including the Sportsman Over 60 category, where Bill Bruce finished ahead of Graeme Scantlebury and Peter Mayo. Watch the BRAAP Scotland film

BRAAP's Glendearg coverage includes drone footage, on-bike perspectives, trackside action and rider interviews. Rather than focusing solely on finishing positions, the film shows the event atmosphere, grouped starts, the landscape and the contribution of the organising club. The footage also helps explain what makes a Hare & Hounds Enduro different from a traditional Time Card event.
