Lossie Bites Back

Highland Enduro Club opened the 2026 Scottish Enduro Championship at Lossiemouth on 7–8 March, hosting rounds one and two. The event used an 18-mile route through the trees, with a tight and twisty special test. Around 120 riders took part, including a full Expert class. This year's course did not use the beach, but Lossiemouth's sandy forest terrain still provided a distinctive challenge.

Why Lossiemouth is a demanding Scottish enduro venue

Lossiemouth stands out for its sand. On softer ground, riders need to preserve momentum and manage changing lines rather than rely on the same braking points and grip they might find on a firmer course. As motorcycles pass through a section, ruts develop and an initially straightforward line can become harder to follow. The special tests put that challenge into a timed setting, where small mistakes can have a real effect on a rider's run.

The 2026 opener was not a beach race: the route ran through the trees. That distinction matters when looking back at Lossie coverage, because the venue's reputation for sand does not mean every edition follows the same course. BRAAP's film records this particular two-day weekend rather than treating Lossiemouth as a fixed layout.

How a Time Card Enduro works

Unlike a Hare & Hounds race, a traditional Time Card Enduro combines a route with scheduled controls and timed special tests. Riders must manage their time around the course as well as their speed in the tests. It rewards consistency, concentration and the ability to keep moving when the terrain becomes tiring. For anyone watching the Lossie film who has never entered this format, BRAAP has a separate guide to Time Card Enduro explaining what to expect.

Watch the riders, revisit the season

In Lossie Bites Back, BRAAP brings together trackside filming, onboard action and rider interviews from the championship opener. The coverage shows the event beyond a finishing order: the terrain, the work involved in getting round and the experience of the riders who took part.
