Most Trials Venues Are Not Open Riding Areas

Scottish trials are commonly held on private land made available for a specific club event. A venue appearing in an event calendar does not mean you can ride there at other times. Always contact the club or venue and check the current event details before travelling.

Club and event information checked against current 2026 listings. Clubs, venues and dates can change, so use the links below for the latest information.

Legal Practice

Where Can You Practise Trials?

If you want to practise outside an organised club event, use a venue that specifically permits trials riding. Do not assume a farm, quarry, forest track or previous competition venue is open for practice.

Pay & Play / Trials Venue

Bob MacGregor Trials Academy

Totherick Quarry, Dunlop, East Ayrshire

A dedicated Scottish trials facility used for club, Scottish and British-level competition. It is also listed as a legal pay-and-play trials practice venue. Check current opening arrangements and terms before travelling.
