ENDURO STORY

Why Enduro Can Be Good for Your Head as Well as Your Riding

For some riders, enduro offers more than competition. Focus, exercise, time outdoors and the paddock community can all be part of why they ride.

Ask riders why they keep coming back to enduro and the answer is not always about racing.

For some, riding gives them a chance to switch off from everything else for a while and focus completely on the bike, the terrain and the next section of trail.

Riding demands your attention

Enduro requires concentration. Line choice, balance, braking, grip and changing terrain all demand attention, which can make a ride feel very different from the rest of the week.

There is also a social side

Events and practice days bring people together. The paddock, travelling, helping one another and sharing the experience can be as important to some riders as the competition itself.

It is not a replacement for professional support

Motorcycling is not a treatment for mental-health problems, and anyone who is struggling should seek appropriate professional support. But riders can still value the exercise, focus, routine and community that come with taking part in a sport they enjoy.
