FIM 6DAYS 2026 • PORTUGAL • SCOTLAND
Scotland has arrived in Portugal. The Scottish contingent is now on the ground in Grândola, getting settled into the paddock and beginning the final preparations for the 2026 FIM 6DAYS Enduro of Nations.
This year is a particularly significant one for the event. Portugal hosts the 100th edition of the 6DAYS, with competition running from 12–17 October around Grândola and the Alentejo region.
For the Scottish riders and support crew, however, the work starts well before the first competitive kilometre.
First look at the 6DAYS paddock
The first photographs from Portugal show the team finding its feet inside a paddock that brings together riders, support crews and machinery from across the international enduro world.
With close to 500 competitors from around 30 nations expected for the centenary edition, the scale is a long way removed from a normal club weekend back home. Team awnings, race transporters, technical support and national squads fill the paddock before the riding has even started.
The Scottish team has already been through the early routine of getting the bikes into place, sorting equipment and taking in the surroundings before the event moves into its competitive phase.
Bikes, equipment and the details that matter
Six days of enduro puts a huge emphasis on preparation. The bikes need to be ready, but so does everything around them: tools, spares, riding kit, fuel arrangements and the organisation needed to keep a team moving through a long week.
The early paddock photographs capture that side of the event well. Riders and support crew are gathered around the motorcycles, checking equipment and working through the small jobs that are far easier to deal with now than once the clock is running.
There is also plenty of Scottish identity around the bikes and kit, with SACU branding prominent and support from Scottish clubs and businesses visible throughout the setup.
A team effort before the start
The photographs also show how much of the 6DAYS happens away from the special tests.
There are team briefings, conversations around the awnings and plenty of time spent making sure riders and support crews are working from the same plan. Once the event gets underway, the focus will naturally turn towards results and tests, but the preparation behind those six days is a major part of the story.
For BRAAP Scotland, that is exactly what makes following the team worthwhile. It is not just about the final times. It is about the build-up, the paddock, the people behind the riders and the experience of taking Scottish enduro onto one of the biggest stages in the sport.
About the event: The 2026 FIM 6DAYS Enduro of Nations takes place in Grândola, Portugal, from 12–17 October and marks the 100th edition of the historic international enduro event.
Scotland on the international stage
The event brings together both professional and amateur riders from around the world, creating an opportunity for the Scottish contingent to measure itself against a genuinely international field.
For those following from home, it also gives Scottish enduro a presence well beyond the domestic championship season. Riders who are normally seen in Scottish paddocks are now standing beneath the 6DAYS arch in Portugal, wearing the team colours and preparing for six demanding days of competition.
The build-up is underway
With the team now settled into Portugal, attention turns towards the remaining preparation before the start.
That means getting familiar with the event, walking the tests, checking the motorcycles and making sure everything is ready for what will be a long and demanding week.
BRAAP Scotland will continue following the Scottish team as more photographs, video and updates come through from Portugal.
